π Game Details
Marvel D.A.G.G.E.R. β the Defense Alliance for Global and Galactic Emergency Response β is Fantasy Flight Games' most ambitious Marvel cooperative board game to date. Published in 2023 and designed by Dane Beltrami, it draws clear inspiration from Eldritch Horror and Pandemic, translating their sprawling world-map crisis management into the Marvel universe with 20 playable heroes and 4 unique villains.
Players assemble a team of iconic Marvel heroes to travel a global board, complete missions, gather resources, and ultimately face off against a Nemesis villain in a climactic final showdown β all before the threat track overwhelms the world. The result is one of the most content-rich Marvel games available, though it comes with some notable trade-offs in component quality.
Players who try Marvel D.A.G.G.E.R. consistently describe the same experience β the sheer number of heroes and the global crisis scale create a genuinely epic Marvel feeling, but the cardboard standees and card quality leave some wanting more. The game earns its place in the Marvel library despite its production compromises.

What Is Marvel D.A.G.G.E.R.?
Marvel D.A.G.G.E.R. is a fully cooperative crisis management board game for 1 to 5 players. Players select heroes from a roster of 20 iconic Marvel characters and work together across a world map divided into regions β New York, Europe, Asia, and beyond. Each region has locations where threats spawn, missions appear, and crises unfold.
The game unfolds in two phases each round. During the Hero Phase, players take turns performing actions β moving across the map, battling enemies, completing missions, gathering resources, and using their unique hero abilities. Then the Nemesis Phase activates β the villain's plan advances, new threats spawn, events trigger, and the threat track climbs. If the threat becomes unmanageable, or five bases fall, the heroes lose.
Survive long enough to complete the mission requirements and face the Nemesis in a final showdown β a climactic encounter with unique villain mechanics that determine the game's final outcome.

Marvel D.A.G.G.E.R. is a genuinely ambitious cooperative game β its 20-hero roster, global crisis map, and Eldritch Horror-inspired design create an epic Marvel experience that no other game in the lineup quite replicates.
